Easter and May Bank Holiday Weekends are just around the corner. Known as the busiest time of year for millions of Brits to Spring into action, freshening up homes and gardens up and down the country.

I can’t be the only one taking on some Spring cleaning or mini renovation so I’ve pulled together some of the best hints and tips we should read BEFORE embarking on our DIY projects.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sending out useful hints and tips about making the most of the long weekends if you’re intending to embark on projects within your home.

Deciding what area of your home you want to freshen up is usually the easiest question to answer. However, deciding what you are going to change it to is often much harder.

Interior designer, Kirstie, from Design by Juby (based in Gloucestershire) explained to me that the first decision one should make is on the floor. Are you intending to change it too? Now or in the near future? If the answer is yes then you should choose your floor covering FIRST.

“It is much easier to match shades of colour and design to flooring due to the infinite choices available rather than spending days or weeks trying to match flooring to the decor.”

Choosing your flooring beforehand allows you to take the floor sample with you when choosing wallpaper and paint ensuring they all compliment each other.

Plan enough time ahead of your DIY project and your floor covering can be installed immediately after you’ve decorated to avoid any damage.

Whatever the room, CWJones has a flooring option to match your needs, taste and budget and can arrange delivery and fitting around you.

Come into our showroom to take a look at some of the amazing offers we have in stock. These include our best current price on high-end Brinton's 80/20 carpet available for an incredibly low price of £19.99SqM and Woodpecker Engineered Wood flooring from £40.00SqM.

My man will hate this tip! According to all the articles I’ve read, they all say the same thing….PLAN. Get Prepared BEFORE you start your DIY project, whatever it is or how big it is.
