Amtico began life as a joint venture between US flooring company, American Biltrite, and Coventry-based chemical firm, Courtaulds, producing flooring designs that quickly became popular in homes around the UK. From there, Courtaulds acquired the entirety of the UK business and experienced mass global expansion, opening their first overseas offices in Dusseldorf and Paris.

Since then, Amtico have only continued to grow, and are now one of the leading manufacturers of floor coverings and carpets around the world. The people behind Amtico are also dedicated to integrating sustainable practices into their work, with innovative solutions such as their 100% recyclable packaging across all products and non-PVC floor covering range, Amtico Cirro.

Amtico also used their design and manufacturing expertise to support the community during the Covid-19 pandemic, producing protective face shields and partnering with schools across the UK to distribute them to the students most in need.
